These terms apply to everyone who uses https://familyfirstguidance.com or books a counselling session through it. The website and Family First Guidance Centre ("the Centre") are run by Effective Family First Foundation ("the Foundation", "we", "us"), whose address is Family First Guidance Centre, Jama Masjid Building, Janjiker Street, Chippi Chawl, Kalbadevi, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400002. By using the website or making a booking, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
1. Our services
The Centre offers family counselling, mental health counselling, financial counselling and matrimonial guidance, in person and online. Guidance is given within the Shari'ah framework, alongside recognised counselling practice. We also run events and workshops, and share articles and videos for general information.
2. Not an emergency service
The Centre is not an emergency service. We reply during office hours, and sessions have to be arranged in advance. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, or you are thinking of harming yourself, please call 112 or Tele-MANAS on 14416 straight away, or go to your nearest hospital.
3. Counselling is not medical treatment
Counselling is a conversation, not medical treatment. It does not replace care from a doctor or a psychiatrist, and our counsellors cannot prescribe or change any medication. Information on this website is general guidance, not advice for your particular situation.
4. Booking a session
- You can book through the Book an Appointment page, or ask us to book for you after an enquiry.
- You must be 18 or over to book. A person under 18 may attend only with the consent of a parent or guardian, who makes the booking.
- The details you give must be true and complete to the best of your knowledge.
- A booking is confirmed only once the session fee has been paid. We then contact you to agree the date, time and counsellor.
5. Fees and payment
- The current fees are shown on our Fees page: Rs 1,400 per session (standard), Rs 400 per session where the Centre's charity fund covers the rest, and US$30 per session for clients outside India. The amount you pay is always shown before you pay.
- Payments are handled by Razorpay, a licensed payment service. You can pay by card, UPI, net banking or wallet. Your card or bank details go to Razorpay, not to us, and we never see or store them.
- The fee pays for the counsellor's time and expertise. No particular result can be promised.
6. Cancelling, rescheduling and refunds
You can cancel for a full refund at any time before your session starts. Once a session has taken place, its fee cannot be refunded. The full rules, and how to ask for a refund, are on our Refund and Cancellation Policy page.
7. Confidentiality
What you tell your counsellor stays confidential. The one exception is where there is a serious risk to someone's life or safety, or where the law requires us to share information. We would tell you if that ever applied. How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
8. Your responsibilities
- Treat counsellors and staff with respect. We may end a session, or refuse further bookings, if anyone is abusive or threatening.
- Do not record a session without the counsellor's agreement.
- Do not misuse the website: for example, by sending false or automated enquiries, or by trying to get into parts of the site that are not meant for the public.
9. Limits of our responsibility
You seek counselling voluntarily, and decisions you take afterwards are your own. The Centre is not responsible for decisions or actions taken by counsellors or clients as a result of a session, and will not be a party to any legal matter that arises from one. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Indian consumer law that cannot be limited.
10. Website content
The text, images, logo and videos on this website belong to the Centre or are used with permission. You may share links to our pages, but please do not copy our content for commercial use without asking us first. Links to other websites are given for convenience, and we are not responsible for their content.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. The terms in force when you make a booking apply to that booking.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra.
